Durham has some nice areas in the Tobacco district.

This shot was taken in Hillsborough.  We had driven around the week before to hunt for some places to take pictures.  We found an old car garage that was painted white and had a bright blue trim.  The sun was bright as it was around noon so we had Ceci put her favorite umbrella up and then used a reflector as well.  We had an old man come out of a house nearby who was wondering what we were doing taking pictures. We could not seem to convince him of our purpose there.  We tried to tell him we liked the colors etc.. but he kept asking why here and why do you want pictures.  Anyway, we took our shots and moved on.  I will add a couple more from that day. The top photo is of James at the old garage.

Picture of Jorge at the pool makes it to 2nd round in the French issue of PHOTO. I'm very excited to see my photo has made it this far in the Creative Angle section. I took this photo in late spring at my Tennis Club in the early evening in the empty pool. I used a snoot on my flash which gave it a nice look. I also added a vignette in development. Will keep everyone updated.

Me in my wedding dress fifteen years later......

Well, last night I was up until about midnight photographing flowers with the help of my good friend photographer Dilip Barman.  A wedding bouquet was made by Victoria Park Florist located in Timberlyne shopping center. The photograph will be used in Chapel Hill Magazine’s next wedding issue.  Dilip is very good at photographing still lifes so I called upon him to assist me.  What is for sure is lighting is very difficult to get just right.  But I think we succeeded  in getting the lighting just right on these shots.

Anne-Marie and her mother came to my studio a few weeks ago for some modeling test shots.  Anne-Marie was very comfortable in front of the camera. This was my first shoot at the new studio and I was excited to use this new space.  I wish Anne-Marie all the best in her modeling quest. It all sounds very exciting.

On June 20th. 2009 Kristen and Brad were married at Duke Gardens

It was a beautiful outdoor evening ceremony. Kristen looked beautiful in a long gown that accentuated her slim waist.  The couple made quite an impression.  We had a fun time taking shots after the ceremony where the groom, sporting a cowboy hat,  joked around with his groomsmen  .  The whole evening was fun but remained an intimate celebration about the love this couple has for each other.

Sunday was the most perfect fall day to host a Pro Am at our club.  75 members signed up for this event.  It was an exciting format with four half hour rounds where members got to play doubles with UNC college tennis players.  One round consisted of drills done with either a UNC coach or a pro.  It was all very fun and the college players were very gracious.  Here are a couple of pictures from the event.

I adore my friend Karen for she is up for anything.  We decided on a beach trip.  Freedom from family responsibilities was on tap.  Now you must understand middle aged women with kids sure know how to make the most of precious free time for it doesn’t come along easily or often.  As much as I adore lying on the beach reading a magazine and swimming doing that for two days could get boring so I signed us up for Paddle surfing lessons.  Now if Matthew Mconaughy can do it we sure thought we could do it but of course we were not going bare chested like dear Matthew for that surely would of caused some heart attacks in the retired old men on the pier!! uggh.  Yes, I think unfortunately at our age those are the only men looking.  Ha ha.  In any case the wind was actually blowing harder than our instructor Brian was counting on but I think he could only have been impressed with our ability to pick it up.  There was only one tense moment where Karen got taken by the wind and was going into a boat but Brian came to her rescue.  For me I loved the quietness of it and enjoyed working out different muscles which I am sure will be sore in the morning.  Yes, I look like a total dork in these photos sorry kids!!
